In 1988, Mr. Xuguang Liu and Mr. Xiaoming Su designed and developed the GM8801, the first Chinese weighing controller with independent intellectual property rights, in Shenzhen. Based on this product, Shenzhen General Measure was founded in 1993. In the following year, over 1000 units of GM8803, the sister model of GM8801, were sold in the Chinese market. This broke the record and GM8803 became the first weighing controller that is exceeded sales of 1, 000 units in one year. Since 2006, General Measure's weight controllers has occupied more than 25% of the market in China and dominated in the higher-end market.
